| Little People ImagiNation(R) Resources You've heard of the Spanish nation and the French nation, well this is the ImagiNation where whales can fly and birds talk with Australian accents. It's a place where you can learn to be a prince and your sister can be CEO of the biggest toy company in the world. All you have to do is pretend. We'll post things here that will help. Pirate treasure maps, dittys that get your juices flowing, and books about ocean creatures...while admiral cats and adventuring seadogs all come to visit! Come sing and dance to the tunes of the seas! The Must-Have-Aboard Music List: | Click here for the Must-Have-Aboard book list. | Bedtime Stories for Pirates Captain Bogg & Salty This is one fun CD and a great band. Most children's CDs drive me mad, especially after repeated playing (I was ready to kill after getting off the Disney ride "It's a small world.") With its ingenious scripting and sound effects, as well as fantastic vocal harmonizing, the album is well crafted and takes you on a journey with stories and music. The songs are catchy and fun and you find yourself singing along no matter what age you are. As you listen, it's not hard to imagine yourself on the deck of a pirate ship with the wind in your hair and surrounded by your loyal crewmates. This one gets better and better every time I hear it. Har! Track Listings | 1. Recruitin the Crew | | 2. I'm a Singin Pirate | | 3. Deedle Dee Toe (Tale & Tune) | | 4. Cat O Nine Tales | | 5. Scurvy | | 6. Weather Eye | | 7. Billy Bones (Tale & Tune) | | 8. Manatee | | 9. The Pollywogg | | Mary Had a Little Amp All the songs you remember from your childhood performed by the artists you listen to today. It benefits a great cause (preschool education for all American children), its star-studded lineup makes you want to crank it up regardless of your station in life. Masterfully sequenced (Dixie Chicks swing into Madonna) so that each track comes across a pleasant surprise. Bonnie Raitt turns in a sleepytime rendition of "Baby Mine". R.E.M. which would normally conjure images of cranking amps here tones it down with the playful, rhythmic "We Walk." | Belly Button (round)! The companion CD to Belly button book! by Sandra Boynton lets you hear what hippos sing on summer nights at the beach. | Putumayo Kids Musical CDs presenting multicultural children’s songs from around the world. (To the tune of Clementine) What's the weather? What's the weather? What's the weather like today? Is it rainy? Is it windy? Are there clouds or is there sun? | | Blow the Man Down I'll sing you a song, a good song of the sea With a way, hey, blow the man down And trust that you'll join in the chorus with me Give me some time to blow the man down There was an old skipper I don't know his name With a way, hey, blow the man down Although he once played a remarkable game Give me some time to blow the man down His ship lay be-calmed in the tropical sea With a way, hey, blow the man down He whistled all day but in vain for a breeze Give me some time to blow the man down. | Taps Day is done
Gone the sun
From the lakes
From the hills
From the sky
All is well,
safely rest.
God is nigh.
Fading light
Dims the sight
And a star
Gems the sky,
Gleaning bright
From afar,
Drawing nigh,
Falls the night.
Thanks and praise,
For our days,
Neath the sun,
Neath the stars,
Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh. | | | | | |
